In Pursuit of Eliza Cynster by Stephanie Laurens

Absentminded scholar though he was, he had a damsel in distress to save.

In her experience, absentminded bookworms were the second least decisive people on earth, only fractionally better than timid little old ladies.

Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue by Stephanie Laurens

For years she’d searched for her hero –the man who would sweep her off her feet and into wedded bliss- only to conclude he was more likely a member of that more elusive group of males. Given her was therefore unlikely to come to her, she’d decided that it behooved her to come to him. To locate him and, if necessary, hunt him down.

Logic and reason, she learned, didn’t always apply where love was concerned; perhaps faith –faith in love- was the only true touchstone.

A Comfortable Wife by Stephanie Laurens

…that’s one of the traits that distinguishes a man from a boy –that a man thinks of his actions in a wider context, not just in terms of himself.

“It was, quite definitely, the most sickeningly cloying exhibition of humbug I have ever witnessed… pure flummery from start to finish. I’m surprised it didn’t stick in your throat.”

Waiting on Wednesday (Feb-4)

”Waiting on Wednesday” is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine,
that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

I have been in love with the Cynster novels for years, and have a large collection of the books. I was ever so pleased to discover  there is now an offshoot of this series based on an even younger generation of Cynsters, and sisters as well.

Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue by Stephanie Laurens

The first novel in this trilogy actually came out in the summer, but I’d not even heard of it until just before Christmas. I am lucky that the library has it, but I’m on a rather long list of all those who also want to read it!

Books In My Mailbox (Dec-2)

This meme is hosted by The Story Siren.

This week’s mailbox is a somewhat interesting tale… I apparently received a package of books shipped from the States to my parents’ home (I didn’t want to deal with my local post office this time of year) . The unfortunate part is that whomever did the shipping sent it through a brokerage that was charging $20 for the border crossing and my parents decided to send it back. I have no idea what was in it, but I really wish the package had just been stuck in the regular mail *le sigh*

What I actually did get to “keep” is a couple books from the library. I got out two books I’ve been waiting forever on. The first is from one of my all time favourite historical series called “Cynster” written by Stephanie Laurens, called Temptation and Surrender. The second book is by Mercedes Lackey and part of the “Tale of the Five Hundred Kingdoms” fantasy series, Beauty and the Werewolf.
