At the beginning of the year I always have good intentions to jumpstart my life and do all the things I meant to do the year before but never actually got around to. This year I plotted and planned and charted with the hope I would find a way to finally get things done. I now have a schedule, tick off my daily and monthly To-Do lists, and intend to use my blog to hold myself accountable and keep motivated. I have dreams and aspirations, so there is no time like the present to achieve them!
Bookstagram: I am not enjoying the block photography sessions that leave me posting weeks after I’ve finished the book and no longer feels relevant. I still have a lot of photos from each colour theme as yet unused, so I’m considering rereading those novels again when the time comes so I will have something to actually say about the book. I also discovered a couple of apps I can use for editing and scheduling posts, so that should help with getting things organized and interesting.
Facebook&Twitter: For some reason my instagram keeps disconnecting from my facebook and twitter, but I would rather focus on my bookstagram and blog anyways. If i eventually get those working, great. If not, no big deal.
Book Blog: My blog website had unexpected issues that caused some derailment, but I’m taking it as a sign I need to regroup and work out a better plan of action that suits my lifestyle better. I hadn’t felt as much joy blogging as I used to and need to figure out if this is just location-based or something more.
Writing: I cannot recall the last time I actually worked on one of my stories. I’ve done some brain storming of new stories and even edited someone else’s novel, but –like blogging– have not taken the time to work on my own stuff. I have not been feeling all that creative and need to get my mojo back. However, I decided not to force things and wait until the autumn.
Exercise: Between a new roommate who tends to crash into me when she’s getting ready for work, a neck injury that happened at work, an illness caught after travelling, and a crazy work schedule I let this slide along with everything else. I’m mostly recuperated health-wise and I’ve cut back on my shifts, so my goal is to get back into at least doing a little yoga in the mornings if nothing else.
Sleep: I have not been as good with bedtimes as I had been. Lately I have been staying up too late reading or trying to plan out my book revamp. I have also been stressing about work, as I plan to quit soon to *gasp* finally move back to Canada (more stress plus excitement). Basically, even with sleep aids I cannot get my mind to stop swirling.
Community: I am doing better about posting on other bookstagrammer pages and ensuring I reply to every comment I receive, which has helped increase my readership after it plateaued for so long. I am not going to worry too much about reading other blogs just yet, as I want to focus on getting my own blog up to par before broadening my horizons.
