Review: Rescuing the Royal Runaway Bride by Ally Blake

SYNOPSIS: On the way to his childhood friend’s wedding, Will Darcy rescues a damsel in distress–the bride running away from the wedding. With the whole country in a furor, Will and Sadie plan to hide in a B&B until the media frenzy dies down and it’s safe to leave. It is supposed to be just a moment out of time, a break from their real lives, except it feels like it could become a whole lot more…

AUTHOR: With the mmc being from London and a few unfamiliar words I assumed the writer may also be British, but it turns out Ally Blake is Australian. She is an award-winning author and has a couple dozen romance novels published.

Waiting On Wednesday

I love books with royals in them. I have done so ever since reading Cinderella as a little girl and dreaming of wearing beautiful gowns while dancing at balls with my soulmate… and let’s not forget the tiara. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend after all!

When I happened to see this upcoming release of “Royals” by Rachel Hawkins I went all googley-eyed. The cover alone –all pink and diamond-esque– made me want it, but the story sounds perfect for me too.

This novel comes out on May 1st from PenguinTeen (aka PenguinRandomHouse), but I’m not sure I can wait an entire two weeks for it! Think the publishers will send me an ARC for review if I ask really nicely?

In My Mailbox (LCYW)

Last year a friend of mine was gushing about a book –she still is for that matter– and so I added it to my TBR list. As more amazing reviews came in, I became more interested and was absolutely dying to get my hands on the novel. Then in a stroke of pure luck I won a giveaway for an autographed copy of Jacquelyn Middleton’s “London Belongs to Me” and fell in love with the story. Here is a link for my review of LBTM.

JM released a continuation of Alex and Mark’s story in “London Can You Wait” a year later this past October, and needless to say I was coveting that book as well and managed to snag the ebooks of both for five bucks! While I still want to have a signed copy of the second novel as well, which will have to wait until I’m back home in Canada, I’m so excited to finally be able to read LCYW now.

Review: Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands

quickbiteSYNOPSIS: This modern-day vampire family lives a fairly normal existence, just going to work and drinking their daily dose of blood… until they find their lifemate. Trying to convince a human they are your soulmate isn’t easy, especially when there are rogue vamps going around killing anyone associated to the Argeneaus.

AUTHOR: Lynsay Sands is a Canadian author who sent her first ms to Harlequin before college, and when she was asked for a rewrite and other of her works she took as a rejection. Now she has written over thirty books, making bestseller lists and winning awards.
